  • 8 cup(s) yellow yam
  • 1 medium onion
  • 1 bunch(es) pak choi
  • 4 cup(s) Grace Chicken Frankfurters
  • 1 cup(s) cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup(s) Margarine
  • 1 cup(s) Whole milk
  • 2 medium eggs
  • 1 tablespoon(s) Grace Vegetable Oil
  • 1 teaspoon(s) salt
  • 1 cup(s) breadcrumbs

Yam and Cheese Bake Directions

  1. Peel, slice then boil yellow yam in enough water to cover, for about 10 minutes. Chop onion and pak choi, then grate Grace Frankfurters and cheese. Set aside.
  2. Drain yam, combine with Grace Hello Margarine and milk and cream until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat eggs and add to the creamed mixture.  Heat oil, saute onion and pak choi; add the seasonings and salt.
  4. Place alternate layers of creamed yam, pak choi and frankfurters in a greased casserole dish, and seal with a layer of creamed yam.
  5. Top with a layer of grated cheese and breadcrumbs. Bake at 180°C/350°F for about 30 minutes.

    Serves: 4-6 persons
