  • 1 bottle(s) stout
  • 2 medium eggs, beaten
  • 1/4 teaspoon(s) bun spice
  • 2 teaspoon(s) vanilla essence
  • 4 ounce(s) Grace Prima Margarine, melted
  • 1 teaspoon(s) Grace Browning
  • 1 pound(s) dark sugar
  • 1 pound(s) counter flour
  • 1 tablespoon(s) baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon(s) salt
  • 1 tablespoon(s) mixed spice
  • 1 teaspoon(s) cinnamon powder
  • 4 ounce(s) whole cherries
  • 8 ounce(s) raisins, soaked
  • 8 ounce(s) mixed peel
  • 4 ounce(s) Grace Guava Jam

Spicy Easter Bun Directions

  1. Combine wine, stout, beaten eggs, bun spice, vanilla essence, Grace Prima Margarine, Grace Browning and dark sugar, mix well and set aside.
  2. Sift together dry ingredients.
  3. Add the fruits to the dry ingredients and mix well.
  4. Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients and pour in the liquid ingredients, mix well.
  5. Scrape mixture into a greased 12"x4"x3" loaf tin and bake at 180°C/350°F for one hour or until a skewer inserted comes out clean.
  6. Melt Grace Guava Jam over low flame and brush over the surface of the baked bun as a glaze.

    To Serve: Serve with your choice of Tastee Processed Cheese or Anchor Natural Cheddar Cheese.
