  • 3 3/4 cup(s) baking flour
  • 5 teaspoon(s) baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon(s) salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon(s) black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon(s) dill (optional)
  • 1/3 cup(s) Grace Margarine
  • 2 cup(s) Anchor Cheddar Cheese, shredded
  • 2 medium eggs
  • 1 1/2 cup(s) whole milk

Quick Cheese Bread Directions

  1. Combine baking flour, baking powder, salt, black pepper and dill and mix well.
  2. Use a dough blender to cut the margarine into the dry mixture until it look like coarse breadcrumbs; fold in the shredded cheese.
  3. Whisk together the eggs and milk.
  4. Make a well in the centre of the dry mixture and add the liquid.  Mix until just moistened.
  5. Scrape batter into a greased 9" x 5" loaf pan and bake at 190°C (375°F) for one hour.  Remove from the loaf pan and place on a cooling rack for about 15 minutes.

    Note:  Your finger tips may be used in place of a dough blender.
