  • 1/4 pound(s) saltfish
  • 4 cup(s) water
  • 3 medium plum tomatoes
  • 1 medium onion
  • 1 teaspoon(s) scotch bonnet pepper
  • 2 stalk(s) escallion
  • 3 tablespoon(s) Grace Vegetable Oil
  • 1 small sweet pepper
  • 1 sprig(s) thyme
  • 1 can(s) Grace Baked Beans
  • 1/2 teaspoon(s) black pepper

Saltfish and Baked Beans Cook-Up Directions

  1. Boil saltfish in 4 cups water for 30 minutes or soak overnight, flake in small pieces and remove all bones.
  2. Chop tomatoes, onion, scotch bonnet pepper and escallion.
  3. Heat oil in a frying pan, saute seasonings and vegetables for about 1 minute then add the flaked saltfish, baked beans and black pepper.
  4. Stir well and cook for a further 1 minute.

    Method Note: Saute - To cook briefly over high flame.
