  • 2 cup(s) cho cho
  • 1/2 cup(s) mixed fruits (raisins and mixed peel)
  • 1/2 liter(s) cherry cordial wine
  • 1 pound(s) Margarine
  • 1 pound(s) dark sugar
  • 6 medium eggs
  • 6 cup(s) all purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon(s) mixed spice
  • 4 teaspoon(s) baking powder
  • 2 teaspoon(s) nutmeg
  • 2 teaspoon(s) almond flavouring
  • 2 teaspoon(s) vanilla essence
  • 6 tablespoon(s) Grace Browning
  • Butter Brandy Sauce
  • 1/4 cup(s) Grace Margarine
  • 1 cup(s) icing sugar
  • 3 tablespoon(s) brandy

Steamed Cho-Cho Pudding Directions

  1. Boil and mash cho-cho, blend mixed fruits and wine.
  2. Cream Grace Hello Margarine and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time.
  4. Combine flour, mixed spice, baking powder and nutmeg and fold a half into the creamed mixture.
  5. Mix in the almond flavouring, vanilla, blended fruits, cho-cho and Grace Browning. Fold in the remainder of the flour.
  6. Scrape batter into two greased and lined 10" cake tins, cover and allow to bake at 160 degrees C or 325 degrees F or until skewer inserted comes out clean.

    Method Note: See Brandy butter sauce method below.
  7. Cream together Grace Hello Margarine and icing sugar until light and creamy, then beat in brandy.
  8. Chill and serve with pudding.
