  • 3/4 cup(s) Margarine
  • 3/4 cup(s) granulated sugar
  • 2 medium eggs
  • 2 cup(s) cake and pastry flour
  • 2 teaspoon(s) baking powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon(s) baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon(s) salt
  • 3 large ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1 tablespoon(s) lime juice
  • 1 teaspoon(s) vanilla essence
  • 1/2 cup(s) whole milk
  • 1/2 cup(s) mixed nuts, chopped

Nutty Banana Bread Directions

  1. Pre-heat oven to 180°C/350°F. Grease and flour loaf pan.
  2. Cream Grace Hello Margarine and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well between each egg.
  3. Sift flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt together and add to the creamed mixture.
  4. Fold in mashed bananas, lime juice, vanilla, whole milk and mixed nuts.
  5. Mixture should drop easily from a spoon.  If not, add a little water or milk until consistency is reached.
  6. Scrape mixture into the prepared loaf pan and bake for one hour.
  7. Cool in loaf pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a cooling rack.

    Recipe Note:
    1/8 - 1/4 tsp. baking soda may be used.
