  • 3 cup(s) water
  • 1 cup(s) pumpkin, diced
  • 1/2 cup(s) yellow yam, diced
  • 1 tablespoon(s) Margarine
  • 1/2 cup(s) carrots, sliced
  • 1 medium Irish Potato, diced
  • 3 large okra, sliced
  • 1 whole scotch bonnet pepper
  • 1 stalk(s) escallion, crushed
  • 1 sprig(s) thyme
  • 1 packet(s) Grace Fish Tea Soup Mix
  • 1 pound(s) Snapper
  • 1 can(s) Grace Butter Beans
  • 1 whole bammy
  • 8 whole crackers

Prendy's Pumpkin Steam Fish Directions

  1. Put water to boil.  Add pumpkin and yam and boil until tender.  Remove pumpkin from liquid; crush, then return to the pot.
  2. Add the Grace Hello Margarine, sliced carrots, diced Irish potato, okra, whole pepper, escallion, thyme and Grace Fish Tea Soup Mix and stir well.
  3. Place the cleaned fish into the boiling liquid.  Spoon liquid over the fish, cover and steam for 10 minutes.  Mix in the Grace Butter Beans and cook for an additional 5 minutes.

    Recipe Note:  One bammy cut into four pieces or eight crackers may be added along with the fish.
