  • 1 pound(s) yam (white or yellow)
  • 4 ounce(s) Margarine
  • 4 ounce(s) shortening
  • 1 pound(s) flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon(s) salt
  • cold water
  • 1/2 pound(s) Grace Chicken Frankfurters

Grace Chicken Franks in Yam Blanket Directions

  1. Peel, wash, boil, drain and mash yam.
  2. Combine Grace Hello Margarine, shortening, flour and salt.  Blend together until it looks like fine breadcrumbs.
  3. Fold in the mashed yam. Add water until desired texture is reached; mix gently and shape into a ball. Chill for 5 minutes.
  4. Roll out pastry on a lightly floured board and cut into an oblong shape, place frankfurters on pastry and fold, making sure that frankfurters are enclosed. Use cold water to seal the folds.
  5. Cut into bite size pieces. Place on an ungreased baking sheet and brush with egg wash.  Bake at 180°C/350°F for 20 minutes.
