  • 1 medium carrot
  • 1 medium cucumber
  • 1 head(s) lettuce
  • 1 large tomato
  • 1 teaspoon(s) molasses
  • 1 piece(s) sugar cane

Garden Rhythms Salad Directions

  1. Wash vegetables.  Cut carrot in thin strips lengthwise and make horizontal slits on each strip approximately 5 cm long. Twist and fasten to one end with a toothpick and place in cold water.
  2. Slice cucumber in thin strips, arrange lettuce leaves in bundles, then wrap each bundle with a slice of cucumber around the base. Fasten with toothpicks and set aside.
  3. Cut tomatoes in wedges and peel skin half way on each wedge. Peel sugarcane and cut thin lengthwise.
  4. Arrange one lettuce bundle on each serving plate with tomato butterflies and carrot curls on either side.
  5. Place small drops of molasses on the salad plate and garnish with strips of sugarcane.
