Fish Tea Soup

Close-up of Fish Tea Soup showcasing fish, root vegetables, mushrooms, and chives in steaming broth

Step 1: SEASON THE FISH

Rub the fish with Grace All-Purpose Seasoning and let sit 10 minutes.

Step 2: BUILD THE BROTH

Bring water, onion and thyme to a boil in a large pot.

Step 3: ADD THE VEGETABLES

Add green bananas and yam; simmer 15 minutes until starting to soften.

Step 4: ADD THE FISH

Add fish and scotch bonnet, simmer gently 15 minutes until the fish is cooked through and flaking.

Step 5: SEASON & SERVE

Taste and adjust seasoning, remove the scotch bonnet, and ladle into bowls hot.

Serving instructions

Traditional fish tea is peppery but not blazing — keep the scotch bonnet whole and pierced so you control the heat.
