Jamaican Cornmeal Porridge

Step 1: BOIL

Heat a saucepan over medium heat, add water and milk, and bring to a boil.

Step 2: WHISK IN THE CORNMEAL

Gradually add Grace Cornmeal, whisking constantly; lower heat as needed to prevent scorching.

Step 3: THICKEN

Cover and cook, whisking occasionally to prevent lumps, until thickened.

Step 4: SWEETEN & SPICE

Stir in spices, Grace Condensed Milk and vanilla; whisk to a creamy consistency.

Step 5: SERVE

Ladle into bowls, top with pecans, fresh berries and a pinch of salt and allspice.

Serving instructions

Toast the pecans dry in a pan for 2 minutes before serving — it makes a big flavour difference.
