Sardine Pate

Ingredients

  • 1 can Grace Sardines in Water, drained
  • 1/2 lemon, juice and rind
  • 5 tablespoons yogurt, natural low-fat
  • 4 tablespoons low fat cottage cheese
  • 2 1/2 cm piece of cucumber, finely chopped fresh basil leaf, finely chopped
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic salt (to taste)
  • Grace Caribbean Traditions Black Pepper, to taste

Sardine Pate Directions

  1. ·         Drain the sardines and place them in a bowl with the lemon rind and lemon juice and mash with a fork until the sardine mixture is a smooth consistency.
  2. ·         Mix the yogurt and cottage cheese with the sardines; and fold in the cucumber and basil.
  3. ·         Season to taste with the garlic salt and the freshly ground black pepper.
  4. Serve with choice of cracker or biscuits, and enjoy!
