  • 1 cup(s) prunes
  • 2 1/2 cup(s) raisins
  • 2 cup(s) red wine
  • 3/4 cup(s) red rum
  • 1 tablespoon(s) Grace browning
  • 1/4 cup(s) Grace Orange Juice
  • 3 medium eggs
  • 1 cup(s) flour
  • 1 1/2 cup(s) fresh white breadcrumbs
  • 1 teaspoon(s) baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon(s) cinnamon powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon(s) nutmeg
  • 1 bottle(s) stout
  • 1/4 cup(s) mixed peel
  • 1/2 cup(s) Grace Prima Margarine

Sweet Surrender "No Sugar" Plum Pudding Directions

  1. Combine prunes; raisins and red wine in a pot; bring to a boil, then reduce flame and simmer for 10 minutes.  Remove from flame, allow to cool, then pour on the red rum.
  2. Coarsely blend the soaked fruits. Add Grace Browning, Grace Orange Juice and eggs and mix well.
  3. Combine flour, breadcrumbs, baking powder, cinnamon powder and nutmeg and set aside.
  4. Blend together the stout and mixed peel until smooth, then pour into the egg mixture.
  5. Pour half the egg mixture into the flour mixture and beat well. Add the melted Grace Prima Margarine and remaining egg mixture and continue to beat until flour particles are sufficiently mixed in.
  6. Scrape pudding mixture into a greased and lined 9" (22 cm) cake tin and cover tightly with aluminium foil.
  7. Bake at 160°C/325°F for 1 1/2 hours or until done.

    TO SERVE
    :  Cool, then serve with a sauce of your choice.
